interior design lighting ideas - abstract textile 'art light' by UK textile artist Mary-Clare Buckle
above is an enlargement of the piece with the lights switched off
this shows the piece with the fairy lights turned on
Random - size 80 x 50cm -
Sold
This piece is mounted between two sheets of acrylic, held in place by 6 small zinc-plated bolts. Behind the piece is an array of fairy (Christmas) lights, which flash off and on in a variety of (selectable) programmes - the gently flashing lights draw the viewer's attention to the piece and then momentarily divert it from the fibres to the lights themselves.
The piece - in my familiar oranges, reds and blues - has metallic fibres set in and on the wool, and the title simply reflects the random, or 'accidental', nature of the lighting effect.
