Semi-abstract textile art - 'The Silver and Gold Horses of Lambert's Castle'

contemporary semi-abstract textile art by uk textile artist Mary-Clare Buckle

The Silver and Gold Horses of Lambert's Castle
size - 65 x 55cm - Sold

This piece was inspired by the autumn scenery at the Iron Age hill fort of Lambert's Castle in West Dorset. A fair used to be held there every year, on John the Baptist's Day, in June - at which they held horse races. The piece is based on an idea I had when listening to a story created by a group of children on a 'wizard's storytelling day' at the fort (apologies for the unusually poor quality image - the piece sold very quickly and I had to just take a quick photograph of it).
